These poems range from Shel Silverstein levels of silliness to the truly heartfelt (but still leavened with humor). With some, the punchline is all in the title, like an article from The Onion; other short poems are like short rhyming jokes. They play with form (limerick, haiku) and parts of speech ("Synonym Cookies") and the design of the whole book is really creative, from the green spot color to the page numbers (e.g. 13 | A Baker's Dozen).

The final poem, "To Open A Book," reads:
To open a book
Is to unlock a door
To a magical world
That is yours to explore.
But closing a book?
It can be just as neat-o.
I did it just now,
and killed a mosquito! ( )
