Dickers planteja el cas d'un assessinat en que han imputat a una persona innocent.Utilitza per a l'investigació personatges que ja coneixem en el cas de Harry Quebert ( ) Eccomi arrivato alla fine delle 600 pagine dell'ultima fatica letteraria di Dicker. Cosa dire? Scritto nel suo solito stile, con molti flashback e rimandi ai suoi romanzi precedenti. Trama molto complessa ma che alla fine si rivela accettabile (ma assolutamente impossibile nella vita reale....), condita però con dialoghi spesso banali. Leggermente meglio del precedente "L'enigma della camera 622", che rimane il punto più basso della bibliografia di Dicke.
