Such a cute couple, I loved their interactions. My con is how often Emmy uses the f word; it was a bit over the top. I think of these movies being closer to a romance book where it's sweet & everyone is nice...except the villain who gets in the way. The plot of a rom-com movie being made kept my interest. Reading the off-camera details was exactly what I'd thought. It's a lot of work and not always as intimate as we think. The nepo baby put me in mind of a few that have tried & failed and then there's the exception to the rule who work out. Such an enjoyable read.

Screenwriter Emmy Harper's lastest rom-com script is about ready to go into production, but the right actress to play the lead hasn't been found. Reluctantly Emmy steps into the role she wrote only to have the lead actor drop out at the last minute and be replaced by action star Grayson West. The last time the two worked together was in their teens, producing a horrible film, spurred on by rumor and innuendo. Their second effort doesn't start out any better than the first as they deal with their animosity for each other while filming what is supposed to be a funny and romantic story.

Right on Cue is a very light, sweet story that would have benefitted from more humor and a dual perspective. Even with these issues, the novel manages to be very entertaining with enough drama to keep interest high. Side characters that are mostly connected to Emmy add layers to the narrative and move the plot along. Emmy and Grayson both have some unlikable traits but still manage to be characters to root for throughout the book. Additional interest is included with the incorporation of texts, interviews, news articles, and social media posts involving the two protagonists. Overall, Right on Cue is a cute, enjoyable page turner. ( )

My Thoughts:

'Right on Cue' was a nice love story of Emmy and Grayson reuniting after what happened earlier while working together in their teens. It was fun reaching out to how these two could finally put the past in the past and move on, and from there, something unexpected happened between them. Will this be a second-chance romance? I don't know if I would say that, but pick up this read and see what you think. Will these two finally unite from enemies to lovers and be given a HEA? Pick up 'Right on Cue' to see how it will all come out. Be ready for a good read.

I am really growing to love Falon Ballard’s books. This one was so cute, despite the lack of communication by the MCs. Loved both their characters and all the tropes: enemies to lovers, forced proximity, second chance romance. All leading to a sweet and satisfying HEA.
