A nice little book about a princess who does not want to wash her hair. I liked the warm color palette on the illustrations, and the size of the font is just right for children to read along. The story, and the especially the way it ends, reminded me of what Neil Gaiman once said regarding his children’s book: adults told him they found it very scary, while children were absolutely delighted. Here, too, as a reader (young, older, or older who has once been young), you are invited to interpret the narrative depending on your own experiences. It can also spark conversations between children and adults. It was undoubtedly a very original story. ( )

Passed this on to a younger friend of the family. They enjoyed very much and were really taken with the drawings and colours. It probably could have been a little bit longer. But over all they thought it was great

I reviewed this book for Library Thing. Lovely little book. Pictures very good. Will pass it on to my daughter to read to my little grandson.

A princess who won't do as she is told gets left to do her own thing and ends up with a family of mice living in her dirty tangled hair.

Full page colourfull illustrations make this a strong attraction for younger readers but the story appears to reward bad behaviour. The parents are not ideal role models and I'm worried that this doesn't send the right message to the targeted audience.

A use of brackets where commas would suffice also encourages poor language skills.

4 Stars for the illustrations, but 1 for the story. Overall 2 stars ( )

Probably not a great idea to teach little girls that if they don't want to wash their hair it's fine. I found this story extremely dull and weirdly lacking in fun for a kid's book. ( )
