I liked the first book of the series better but, this book was really good to. ( )

Not as much entertainment as first in series. Only once does the curse play a part in the story after creating a snow storm for the setting. The brothers add nothing to the story. Venetia is resourceful and not totally helpless female. Ravencroft adds some humor as the abductor. Lord Gregor MacLean is a great friend becoming lover. He has class as a person and treated her so nicely. Liked the scene with the rum drinking resulting in the bet. Enjoyed the grandmama with her resourcefulness. ( )

I really enjoyed the chemistry between the lead characters. Gregor is a "tell it like it is" kinda guy, which i adore. ( )

When the heroine is kidnapped by an idiotic and horribly naïve suitor, the hero is shocked by how much if affects him. Normally he's a calm, cold and collected man but the idea of his childhood friend being abducted fills him with rage. He immediately set off the recover her and finds them in a B & B on the way to Scotland. But there he's forced to realize something that he's never considered before. His friend has become a very attractive woman. It's never occurred to him before but the fact of another man gaining her affections makes him horribly jealous. Because of the curse, his emotions cause the weather to turn. In his anger and repressed lust, he's caused a severe snow storm and trapped them all in the lodge until it's safe the travel. The heroine has always known her friend was that most hansom man she's ever laid eyes on. But it's never been more than because she's never allowed herself to feel more than that. He's never even hinted any attraction to her before but suddenly he's giving her smoldering eyes and she finds it next to impossible to stay away. But she's seen how he treats his woman. He's cynical, cold and shows open disgust towards previous lovers who've become clingy in any fashion. She's terrified of losing his friendship because he makes it clear all he can offer is lust. He thinks himself incapable of love. I loved this book. I thought the chemistry between the two characters was off the chain. The heroine is a fixer. She's constantly meddling in others business and takes on peoples problems like projects. She's too kind hearted for her own good. The hero is pretty unlikable at first. He's rather mean with his distain towards other people and his refusal to offer help to anyone other than the heroine. He starts off as the typical cold hearted but gorgeous hero. Then you can start to see a change in him. He laughs more freely. He begins to think of other people feelings and it's all unconsciously because he wants the heroine to see him as a better man. The plot did slow at points because nothing much happened other than the frustrating and confusing feelings between the main characters but I was never once bored. The struggle between the two as the try to find their footing in the middle of the chaos they find themselves in was real and genuine. It was the old dilemma of are you willing to risk a good thing for the chance of something better? It wasn't quite a 5 star rating as I disliked the ending but it was still a very nice book. ( )

It was Hot, Funny, Romantic and quick based. It was Totally Karen Hawkins's style. I am enjoying the book a lot. Gregory is my favorite male character in the series; he is so sexy; though the story line reminds me a lot of Jane Austen's Emma. But it is good. ( )
