Aragon is a fallen shadow warrior who has chosen revenge against a traitorous Blood Hunter over his brotherhood and duty. Dr. Annette Batista is obsessed with finding her sister despite the revelation of the dangers in exactly who and what has taken her. When Annette discovers Aragon's amulet at the Sacred Stones it gives her the power to call his fallen soul to her and leads Aragon to discover something far more precious than revenge.

This is the second of St. Giles' Shadowmen series and although it was very dramatic and descriptive, I felt it went a little over the top. By the end of the book I was more than ready for the story to be done with. I didn't have any problems with the characters because I liked them well enough but unfortunately I didn't really connect with them. The premise is interesting enough that I am contemplating reading the third of the series but more in a "take it or leave it" sense than an "I've got to read it" way. Good for the paranormal romance lover who enjoys stories with developed underlying plots. ( )
