A great way to introduce the concept of gratitude without invoking a specific religion. Lovely artwork moves the story along. Media: Watercolor and black ink Summary: God creates the world and He makes Man and Woman who live in the "garden" and watch over all the living things, until they eat from the tree of life and must take different paths in order to get closer to God. Genre: This book is a good example of myth, the author calls it "A creation myth for the new millennium". It includes an interpretation for how the earth and humanity was created, specifically the story of Adam and Eve told in a new light. The content is historically accurate according to the culture/ the Bible. Theme: The author's overall intention for writing this take on the creation story and how humanity fell into sin was to allow readers to see the "Fall" in a new light. The theme that humanity must go on a journey to get closer to God, taking four different paths at different times in order to get there, is key to the story.
