Being a military brat myself, I absolutely loved this book. Before I read this book, I thought that my life experiences were unique (different from those I knew when I lived offbase). The book made me realize that I am part of a big family of military brats all over the world. I was shocked at how well the author described my life. Recommended reading for any military brat, especially those that grew up in the military during the 60's. ( )

This unique and insightful book describes the psychological context of a family living within the military context in vivid and telling detail. It is a 'must read' for military families. The study is diagnostic in character, not prescriptive. How to respond to the profile of the child raised in a military milieu is the task of another book, not this one. Excellent study written from a very realistic perspective. It is not an a priori professional psychological study, it is an a posteriori study written by someone who has experienced the life and discussed it in depth with others who have also experienced it.
