As suggested by the title, this book contains a collection of 50 knitting patterns from earlier Rowan publications. Designers include Louisa Harding, Kaffe Fassett, Kim Hargreaves, Annabel Fox, Mary Norden, Sue Turton, Claudine Perus, Sharon Peake, Sasha Kagan, Amanda Griffiths, Jean Moss, Lucy Guy, Susan Duckworth, Martin Storey, Erika Knight, Debbie Jenkins, Edy Lyngass. The designs are beautiful, but far too many of them (IMHO) require intarsia.

In addition to the designs, the book includes a history of Rowan Yarns by Stephen Sheard, and technical articles by Montse Stanley, Julia Cowper, Kate Buller, Sue Horan, and Gail Abbott.

This is a great compilation of patterns. I rescued it from a library sale. Wonderful, classic Rowan. ( )
