This book geared toward young people, covers the topics: Fun; Dating; Personality; Parents; Manners; Looks; Education; Life's Work; Conversation; You and God; Wedding Bells; Military Service and: God's Will.

This book was originally written in the 50s and the copy I read had been updated in the 70s. I knew things would be outdated or not have aged well, but actually it wasn't as bad as expected. It is essentially written as a handbook for Christian teenagers and young adults with things to think about regarding life's big decisions. Some parts I found had good advice, like some of the information on college and that it's not for everyone, and some tips to really do what is best for you rather than wasting time and money. Other parts either seemed unnecessary or very shallow advice. Especially the first few sections on the importance of dressing well, learning to be interesting and speaking well so you can fit in with the group or find a good partner ( )

Another gift from my mom to me as a teenager, this is a book about growing up. It included chapters on knowing yourself, manners, family, career, military (this was during the Viet Nam era), dating and marriage - all from a Christian perspective. Too bad I didn't follow some of it's advice. ( )
