On the plus side, having worked on a horse breeding farm myself, I liked that the breeding details were right and I appreciated that the author did not try to give human values to the horses.
However, there was one scene that was just odd. The heroine was a city girl, scared of horses. This was a big operation. There were plenty of hired hands to do the work. Why then was there that odd scene where the heroine was cleaning stalls? There was no explanation, no scenes leading up to it, no reason for a guest at a multimillion dollar breeding farm to be cleaning stalls especially with a wheel barrow since most of the bigger equine operations use more modern equipment (bobcats and manure spreaders etc.) Why did the three brothers just stand and watch her? She shooed them away saying she had work to do. This was a scene that contributed nothing to move the story forward just a chance to have the heroine fall down in manure. Hmmm. ( )
