It comes across like a story about what it means to be immortal and watch everything you know pass away, and you do the whole this-is-a-familiar-idea-and-a-sometimes-bare-bones-treatment-but-an-early-one-too-so-credit-for-that multi-adjustment, but then it turns out to also have a lot to say not only about the person doing the leaving behind but also those left behind, a less mined vein, and then there is a MAJOR TWIST at the end (and in the 18th century, men were men and twists were twists) and said twist leads to an Epicurean lesson that especially touched me because Nourjahad at the start is like "I want it all, I want to live forever and see all the places and know all the people" and that was me too and then he comes around to something more rarefied. And it's by Sheridan's mom, who is the equal of Sheridan though perhaps not Goldsmith. ( ) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
