Long Journey Home was such an endearing story. Two very broken people, both with hurts they thought they would never get past, thrown together in a way only God could have arranged.

Callie was a strong, yet beaten down woman. Her abusive ex-husband had left her because and while she was pregnant. Pastor Dan is running from the memory of his beautiful wife and child who were killed in an auto accident. (and ultimately from God). Dan is very drawn to Callie and has this protectiveness he feels toward her. Callie isn't really 'afraid' of Dan but her ex has taught her to be cautious.

As they reluctantly get to know each other they each realize that their feeling are growing. Can this pair let go of their past hurts, let God heal their hearts and find love once more? What happens when Callies ex starts causing trouble?

Sharlene never disappoints. I highly recommend this book. Her Heroines are always strong and her heros are to die for!!! I found I liked Callie and Dan so much I hated to see the book come to a close. ( )

Callie has a painful past with a divorced abusive husband. Dan Mattson has left his church after the death of his wife and child. They end up in the same apartment across the hall from one another. An unlikely romance; but a story of healing hearts, rekindling of faith and finding love in spite of life's tragedies. ( )

Her: A single mother of an infant, recently divorced from an abusive husband. She is trying to start over, with God at the center of her life.
Him: A minister who left his church after his wife and baby daughter were killed in a car accident. He is running from the pain and from God.
Setting: The apartment building in which they both live.
Resolution: Wouldn't that be a spoiler?
The Author: Tells a good story but succombs to the temptation to sermonize. ( )
