Carolyn was adopted when she was two months old from Honduras. Two years later Carolyn and her family went back to Honduras to adopt Carolyn's brother, Michael. Carolyn shares her feelings about being adopted and explains how being adopted is a different way to have a family. The pictures used throughout the book were very touching and gave you an insight on how happy Carolyn is. This would be a good story to read to student's to discuss different types of families. ( ) Carolyn is a young girl who as addopted by her parents from Honduras and this book tells her story in her own words. She talks about how Carolyn is proud of and embraces her cultural background even though it is different from most of her friends and even her adopted parents. Carolyn's Story can teach children that every family and child is unique and that differences should be celebrated. It also highlights that families come all different shapes and sizes.
