Started off fast paced and really interesting with bits of humor that helped you connect with the characters. Then, between 30 & 40 percent I noticed the pace started to slow down. There was still humor. And I was still intrigued by the story line and the characters. But by 50% the repetitiveness was getting on my nerves.

"Now wasn’t the time to be lusting after the hunk who had saved her life." was repeated so many times by the end of the book I wanted to slap the characters and the author upside the head. And that is just one example of the repetition.

To add insult to injury, the story became jumpy and the editing went downhill.

At 56% there is a sex scene that is so jumpy and oddly worded it is absolutely Cringe worthy. It starts off good. But during this scene the characters positions jump without any fluidity. That is the least of the problems with this scene. Some of the wording is very off putting. This scene goes on for some time, and I will give credit to the good bits, but there are a lot of areas that needed massive improvement! I Can NOT say it was romantic, nor was it erotic. It was Odd & Awkward.

What a strange book. It has a lot of really good qualities, but it's like numerous people wrote it. Some of which should not be writing at all! When the story was good, it was really good. But when it was bad, it was horrendously bad.

Either way, I have the other stories on my kindle. I got the bundle after I got this one in some deal or other. I am intrigued enough that I will read the 2nd book in the future. Sometimes the 1st book in a series has a lot of problems but shows possibilities. Then you read the 2nd book and it really takes off. I hope that is the case here. The good parts of this story has me hoping the rest of the series was taken more seriously by the author. It would really be a shame if that is not the case. There is clearly talent here. ( )

Immortal Ops is an ok start to a interesting paranormal romance sereis. [a:Mandy M Roth|7120253|Mandy M Roth|https://www.goodreads.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-d9f6a4a5badfda0f69e70cc94d962125.png] created a world of natural born, lab created and genetically modified/bitten shifters. They are a special ops team that have dedicated their life to protecting the sup races.

It was an interesting start to the series and I liked, I didn’t like it, It was ok! It’s a short, fast novella with lots of action. The hero/heroine fall for each other fast. By the end I felt like something was missing from the story. I can’t pinpoint what I felt was missing. Just felt like something was. As for the sex scenes they border on erotic. The Ops team are a very sexual race and when they claim their mate its raw and carnal. I did like the mix of paranormal beings. We are given werewolves, vampires, fae and so much more. Many of the people in the story are a mixture of supernatural creatures.

Immortal Ops is an ok start to this series It's a quick short read. It's a nice military supernatural story to pass sometime and I look forward to getting to know the other members of the I-Ops team.

Interesting plot line. I liked it for the genetic mention, but otherwise I had a really hard time with the fact that the story didn't really feel like it had a point, it was extremely rushed and honestly I don't have a great desire to read the next one. Everything felt overly deliberate and it was entirely predictable. I guessed everything before it happened. Perhaps I've just read too much in this genre, but I doubt it. There were also a lot of pieces missing that I guess could be in the next one, but I'm not sure if I'm curious enough to go on. Most definitely not a favorite of mine. ( )

It was ok. I got this as a free read. It's a quick read and I neither loved or hated it! To be honest I felt the whole mating thing happened really quick..it always feels like a cop out of plot development. The sex scenes were suitably steamy but there just wasn't enough plot fleshing out for me! ( )
