This is a very touching story, about a guy that I bonded with immediately as a fellow programmer. ... My heart broke for Seth in this story, and I wanted to see him find the love that he so deserves. I really enjoyed this story, and was surprised by the unexpected turn it takes just when I thought I knew what was going to happen. I love being caught off guard like that and really enjoyed the tale of Seth's night. This is very nice story about accepting yourself and finding the love you deserve. - Enigmatically Emily Seth is having a scarily good time at the office Christmas party this year. He owes it all to his hoped-for boyfriend, Oscar, who turned him into a carefree programmer from an uptight nerd. If Mr. Saroc, the company CEO's assistant, would quit dogging his steps at work, Seth believes his happiness with Oscar will be complete in time for kissing under the mistletoe. A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2008 Advent Calendar package "Christmas Dreams". Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

The story is really short, 35 pages, and it's actually only a scene, the Christmas party night. But the author gives the reader enough details to imagine Seth and also Seth's friends; he is not a character without development, it's easier to imagine all his background and all his joy for what he is expecting for Christmas. And so the reader can sympathize with him when he suddenly seems to have lost everything only to find a way better gift under the Christmas tree. Arnost is maybe on the second line, but also him has some nice features that makes him an easy character to like for the reader.
When you find such good characters, you can only say that it's a shame that they leave you so soon.
