I personally liked the book's vocabulary use and would additionally include it in my classroom for the diagrams it provides. (ex: pg. 28:Interior of Mandan Earth Lodge). For all of these reasons, I would read it to grades 2nd-4th during social studies or include it in a lesson plan specific to Sacagawea. Who Was Sacagawea? by Judith Bloom Fradin is a very informative book! I did not realize that she was only 10 or 11 when she was traded to a frontiersman to be one of his Indian wives! She had been kidnapped from her tribe by another and that tribe just sold her at a young age! I don't think they told me this in school. There was a lot in here they didn't discuss. I wealth of knowledge in this book. I am glad I picked it up from the library. Wow, what a strong girl. Great book. Who was Sacagawea is an brief biography chapter book about Sacagawea.
