Very enjoyable series romance. The characters are really fleshed out and sound very individual and authentic. For a series romance, the plot was very down-to--earth and a lot fresher than others I've read (despite the movie star cowboy). ( )

This is one cute book! Lots of cowboys running around town, a widowed mom of four who finds herself tangled up with the great cowboy auction, an event planned to raise money to help an elderly woman pay her mortgage. Our hero, who used to live in town as a foster child with a local rancher, is now Hollywood's hunkiest heartthrob so no one thinks he'd agree to be auctioned off; unbeknownst to our heroine and everyone else, he's not been able to get her out of his mind for over 20 years, he comes to town determined to win her over. The town of Elmer is populated with some of the dangest, quirkiest, sweetest people but be warned, this is part of a loosely tied-together series (this hero shows up in one of McAllister's Harlequin Presents as a secondary character), and this heroine's sister has her own story in a subsequent Desire. Oh the torture of finding a backlist! McAllister is a favorite author of mine and this one did not let me down; too bad it was a library book - had to return it! ( )
