This is a cute and clever book that can be sung. I enjoyed reading this book to my group. The love Old MacDonald and enjoyed this twist on the classic. The book teaches vowels, I love that the vowels had faces. Very fun! ( )

A little girl named Sue Macdonald was reading a book. Suddenly, the vowels jumped out of the book, and ran off. She went all over the world to chase after her missing vowels. She finds them all, and reads her book some more.
This book is meant to be an educational adventure. The lesson it teaches could be something like, "without vowels, we can't read!". The text encourages the reader to "sing along" to the tune of "Old MacDonald". This makes it easy for children to stay engaged. The great thing is that it is constantly repeating "a, e, i, o u". ( )

For any tween, or adult, needing help with remembering the vowels. Just like in the word 'pony', sometimes Y is a vowel too. ( )

This is a wonderful book for children to read who are learning their vowels. It goes along to the same tune as "Old MacDonald". Saying, "Sue MacDonald had a book...A.E.I.O.U.", the author goes through each vowel showing ways that the letters are used in words. It is very educational but it also a fun way for kids to learn their vowels. My favorite part of the book is the end when the "Y" comes in. The author states "A.E.I.O.U....and sometimes Y as the illustrated "Y" peaks from behind the page :).

This book is great for elementary aged students to read while learning about vowels. It's a catchy tune that is easy for students to remember that a,e,i,o,u and sometimes y are all the vowels in the English language. The idea of a concept book as a rhyme book is a wonderful and smart way to get children to learn this concept!
