I think this book can be used for intermediate and primary level students, but I am not sure if I would use it in my own primary classroom because of the content. This book talks about all the types of animals and how the food industry hurts them to make food. It is a lot of reasons about why people choose not to eat meat and food products that come from animals.

This is an easy read that relates the issues of family of animals to a family of humans. The book is biased, and does not lend to any other discussion of why eating animals can be beneficial, or good. The book also stresses the reality of animal farm living conditions, in an easy ti understand non-violent graphics, as compared to many of the same types of literature available in public libraries. The truth at an age appropriate level. I appreciated that the book focuses on the positive aspects of animal lives, and their characteristics. ( )

Ummmmm. This might have been a little too much for me. I appreciated the idea of the book, and for that I'm bumping it up a star, but it was very black and white. I would probably still use it but only with a good discussion after the fact. ( )

a wonderful learning resource for young (and, perhaps, older) people... the graphics are well done, haunting even... i requested this for the public library i work at - we (vegans) are well overdue for some beautifully presented books to help break down the status quo of human superiority... well done ruby roth!
