The Leander pearls were stolen nineteen years ago. The thief was caught, but the pearls were never found, and there is still a $25,000 reward for anyone who finds them. Then somebody comes to private detective Carmady with a story about a guy who knows where the pearls are hidden. Carmady agrees to talk to the guy who says he knows. But he finds him dead in his bed, with burned feet, and it seems there are quite a lot of people in Los Angeles who have heard the story, and who are outlooking for the Leander pearls . . .… (mehr)

One day,Carmady was asked to search for the Leander pearls which were stolen ninety years ago.He was going to meet Peeler Mardo who knows where the Leander pearls are,but before he meets him, peeler was killed by someone...

I think the ending is good.
maybe, until you finish reading, you can't understand why the title is goldfish. ( )

The private detective Carmady attended to find out the stolen pearls, which never found. IIf someone found it,he can get a large reward. He reserched the pearls, but what he saw then?Everyone were killed and killed. Why?
I didn't feel excited so much because of too much death of people. In addition to this,it was difficult to understand the contents of this book because many troubles happened and happened, and this was very complex. Also I couldn't realize the point in this book, but the way of impression in the conversation made me laugh!! ( )

This story is that a detective search for pearls. In the middle way of searching for pearls, he faced some crisis. And in this book some people die.
I don't like stories about madder or dead. You can see such scene in this book. So I felt fear. But when I understand connections among pieces of the story, I could enjoy it. ( )

Even though it was a small book I struggled to get through it. The conversation wasn't that entertaining and the book just didn't seem that 'well crafted'. ( )
