Another good romance story by Marcia Lynn McClure. If I ever want a good romantic read, I know I can count on Marcia Lynn McClure to deliver. The best part of the story is that you not only get one romance adventure, but in this story there are three lovely romance stories going on.

Angelina Maddox and her sister Becca have grown up without their mother who passed away when they were younger and have had no motherly influence in their lives. But their father has raised them well and it is a happy family. But Angelina, called Dusty by most folks, (and when you find out how she got her nickname it will bring a smile to your face), has become a bitter person when it comes to men and life in general. Her first love, Ryder left the ranch when she was 14 and he was 20. She has never forgotten him and harbors bitterness in his leaving. Then when she opens her heart to another she finds him cheating on her. So when Ryder comes back into her life 5 years later he has to show a lot of patience with Dusty to win her over. He left for good reasons, which you will understand as you read this story. Dusty just needs to let go of her bitterness and learn to trust the one she loves. Then there is also her sister, who has also loved some one from afar and their father, who needs to open his heart to true love once again.

There is some danger and suspense, but mostly a lot of love and romance, so saddle up and be prepared for some really good reading enjoyment. ( )

I have read several books by this author and I have loved them all so far. This has to be my favorite.
Dusty has been hurt by two men in her life. She has cut off men and doesn't want a romance. Ryder was the first person she has a crush on and being several years older wanted to protect her. When he left the ranch he took her heart with him. In the 5 years he was gone another man the bankers son came calling on Dusty and they ended up engaged, but it feel through after she seen some bad things happen. When her father came back he brought Ryder with him and to Dusty's surprise she was excited yet hated him. Ryder can't believe all the bitterness Dusty holds but he plans to fight through it.

A lovely clean romance one you don't want to put down. ( )

This is the first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it! The story takes us into the life of Angelina (Dusty) Hunter who years ago when only 14 found herself in love with her father's best ranch hand, Ryder Maddox. Ryder was 20 at the time and was drawn to her to the point he left with the idea of returning when she grew up. Five years has now passed and she's watching for her father to bring home some cattle he purchased. But that's not all her father brought home. Her father ran into Ryder and hired him to work at the ranch again. Ryder is determined to win the heart of the girl who stole his years ago. But Dusty's heart has hardened over the last five years. And though she is still very much in love with Ryder she is determined to never let her heart be broken again.

This was an easy paced story. I found that I really liked the characters. They were all interesting and fun. There were several stories going on in addition to Ryder & Dusty. I liked Dusty but there were a few times I wanted to shake her and say "wake up girl"! Ryder was an "ahhhh" kind of hero. Simple but complicated. There was a little mystery, a little suspense and just an all around good story. Her stories are clean and her characters are moral. (at least in this story). If you're looking for a good old-fashioned historical romance, then pick up a copy of Dusty Britches! ( )
