Lädt ... The Great Yellowstone Firevon Carole Garbuny Vogel
![]() Keine Keine aktuelle Diskussion zu diesem Buch. ![]() "Together with sunlight and the nutrients from burned wood and underbrush, the water triggered an ancient cycle of regrowth." I read this story manly because I saw it and nostalgia took over. I worked in Yellowstone National Park during the summer of 2014 and fell in love with the park, its geothermal features, ecology, and the diverse organisms that make up such an incredibly interesting ecosystem. This book does a great job of capturing the ecology of the park and the importance of fire in the cycle of life, death, and rebirth in the park. The book provides information about the Great Yellowstone Fire of 1988, as well as a great deal of information about the ecological interactions throughout this park that support such an vibrant, thriving ecosystem. The book also briefly discusses the geothermal forces that have sculpted the region and still shape the land today. The images throughout the book support the narrative of the story as it describes the incredible scale and impact of the great Yellowstone fire of 1988. The authors do not include a bibliography, but the book seems to be accurate and the authors' biography seems to support their qualifications in writing this book and describes them as "former science teachers and editors in educational publishing."
