What little girl doesn't imagine being a princess? From morning until evening, Geraldine pretends to be a young royal who goes through each day doing the same as a princess, even though others may not believe in her. This is a beautiful children's story that will warm everyone's heart. Anyone can believe in something if they really feel it in their heart.

The very Fairy Princess is about a girl who believes that she is a princess. Everyday she goes through her princess routine of putting on her crown dressing to perfection and eating very well. Throughout her day her moto is to "sparkle", she loves to sparkle and wants everyone else to as well. She always has a top notch attitue and loves to be loved.
This book is a great book to read when learning the concept of believing in yourself and be who you want to be. In the very fairy princess story the young girl believed that she was a true princess. Be who you want to be and do it to the fullest.

of course my daughter picked this one out from school because of the pretty sparkles and pink cover. Shows you that you can be real and a princess too! ( )

Summary from Goodreads.com

Everyone's favorite fairy princess is back and just in time for her ballet recital in this new picture book addition to the Julie Andrews Collection. At first, when Gerry is cast as the Court Jester and not the Crystal Princess, she is dismayed -- nothing is pink and no one can see her crown under her silly jester hat! But just as the recital looks like it's headed for disaster, our ever-energetic very fairy princess swoops in to save the day!

Gerry's sparkle radiates from the page once more through Christine Davenier's whimsically elegant illustrations in this spirited, ballet-themed follow-up to The Very Fairy Princess from the renowned mother-daughter team of Julie Andrews and Emma Walton Hamilton.

What I liked about the book: The illustrations are colorful and will appeal to young readers. I like that the story provides a message about what it means to be a good sport and team member without coming on too strong. Gerry is a good role model for young girls. She's not perfect, but she tries hard. It will be easy for readers to identify with her. Young girls who like princesses, fairies and the color pink will enjoy this book.

What I didn't like about this book: I liked it all.

Recommended for Kindergarten and above.
