The author relates his awesome experience in his path toward spiritual truth. An inspiring read, slightly verbose and out there. ( )

Better than the last book I had on enlightenment. Gems of wisdom. I wish the same outcome of realization for myself. ( )

The greatness of this book is that it reaffirms the ancient truth that a human being must find the truth himself/herself. Buddha said, "No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path." This life of Radhanath Swami proves that once again. The book stunningly describes the deep personal journey of a seeker and the determination he had to sustain his spiritual thirst. Radhanath Swami's spiritual journey from US to India is full of ups and downs. He faced so many obstacles. Any other ordinary mortal would have succumbed to the natural pressures and given up. He pursued. His inner endurance opens us to the working of a true spiritual seeker. Determined, gentle, loving, passionate and steady were the path of Radhanath Swami.

This is an excellent book for any spiritual seeker or any human being interested in knowing how the search of the truth works.

The Journey Home: Autobiography of an American Swami
By Radhanath Swami

In his biography "The Journey Home" Radhanath Swami writes about his experiences in search of mystical truths, as revealed by virtually inaccessible Holy Men in the far reaches of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.

He actually went to those inaccessible places and met with those unknown true masters of mystical powers. They shared with him that the real power behind all the mystical powers is a clean heart and mind through which one can attune oneself to Universal flow of love from God. Having gained that flow of love from God those Holy Men could stay in the remotest places completely satisfied in their meditation.

Sincerely seeking the source of love he was able to walk through the veil covering the perfected masters which was protecting them so that they are not disturbed in their meditation.Due to his sincere and determined yearning, despite insurmountable obstacles including several near death encounters, various doors opened up. He saw various progressive signs like the shining eyes and simple smiles of the sadhus, their kindness and the song of the river Ganges. He thus became more and more attuned by these signs and his senses began to pick more of these calls. He was permitted to enter further deep into the real truths as he became more and more fixed in the source of love.

Join Radhanath Swami as he traverses through near death encounters, apprenticeships with advanced yogis, and years of travel along the pilgrim's path to eventually reach the inner sanctum of India's mystic culture in his humble journey to the source of love.
