As I read this book, I kept thinking I had read it before. Then I realized the author had taken multiple big plot devices (amnesia, lost child, evil fiance, revenge, etc) and smushed (yes, smushed) them all into one book. I guess that explains the lack of character development. I never really got to know the characters well because the plot was driving all their actions. I had expected more and was disappointed.

Also, it felt like the secondary characters were pushed down instead of built up for their own books. I'm not sure I'm looking forward to reading any more about this family. (
