Kurzbiographie
The University College of Wales, Aberystwyth's Guild of Students' rag committee, for several years during the mid 1960s-mid 1980s (at least) by far the most successful fund-raising Rag in the UK. Their most successful prank was probably in 1966 when they successfully hung a modified print of a painting by Tintoretto, labelled as a self-portrait by Givetto Aberragi, c.1560-1638, in the National Gallery, London. The picture either hung (i) for an hour or so, or (ii) 24 Jan.-4 Feb. 1966, remaining undetected until the students sent letters to the daily newspapers, depending on sources.
