This little book is a mix of lawyer jokes and comments about lawyers. Some are anonymous, some by famous people, and some are by actual lawyers. The jokes are humorous, the comments thought-provoking. One of my favorites was said by Charles Lamb: “Lawyers, I suppose, were children once.”

The biography Who was Albert Einstein talks about the life of Einstein and how he became one of the most influential people in science. The book talks about his love for science and bettering the world around him. He devoted his life to pursuing what was next instead of focusing on the present. This is a great book for students in middle school because it encourages students to push themselves and create. This book had really amazing illustrations that grab students attention and keep them interested. This would be great for a introductory book for a science class so learn about an influential figure.

Tess loved her tree. She did everything outside under her tree. One day a storm came making the tree's branches bend and shake. After the storm, Tess's mother did not think it was safe to keep the tree up. Tess's tree was taken down and she was very upset. She decided to have a funeral for her tree and invited her neighbors. At the funeral, the neighbors stood up and talked about their memories of the tree. It made Tess happy to see that her neighbors had great memories of her tree as well. I like that the illustrators do not take up the whole page. I also like how the illustrator changes the colors of the illustrations to match the mood conveyed by the text.

Some of the funniest parts were actual occurrences in courtrooms and quotes from historical figures.

This fun biography was about Albert Einstein, a man who was one of the world's greatest scientists. The book tells about his life and how he grew to love science. He was very passionate about world issues and making the world a better place. He had a pretty normal life and family. He spent a lot of time focused on science and he always pushed his thinking to the limit. This book is great for middle schoolers, it has a lot of awesome pictures that enhance the story. Perfect for a science class that is studying scientists or learning about the history of science.

The Who Was series is a really good series of books. They are really informational and accurate. They allow the child to be actively engaged while learning about the person. This book was really good and could be used in a science lesson or could coincide with the albert einstien unit. This book is definitely for an older audience starting with third grade because it could be more difficult for younger children.

Tess really loves the tree in her yard. She draws it, catches leaves, and, most of all, loves to swing on it. A storm suddenly brews and knocks the branches of her tree down. Worried for the safety of others, Tess's mother has the tree cut down. Tess is devastated, angry, and can't stop crying. She plans a funeral for her tree and all of her neighbors attend. The old lady next door tells of how she used to play on the tree and a young couple who carved their names in the bark show up to pay their respects. Tess manages to stop crying and is happy.

Tess's development is very clear. She is angry and resentful after her tree is chopped down. At the funeral, she learns how the tree made others happy and manages to get passed the pain to remember her tree fondly. This topic of moving on is a good lesson, because holding onto anger isn't healthy.

I really liked this book! I was sad that they didn't plant another tree at the end, but she did put sticks in the ground around the stump. I had a tree in my yard as well and it, too, got knocked down by a storm. I remember how I used to climb it on summer days and just be at peace. I miss that tree, but this book reminded me of the good times I had with it.½

Summary: A fun and engaging biography of Albert Einstein’s life, from his relationships, to his scientific discoveries. Brallier tells about Einstein’s exile from Germany, to his role in helping create the atomic bomb. He presents the facts but adds touches of humor along with illustrations.

Personal Reaction: My thoughts are, Bralliers way of telling Alberts life with humor and pictures kept my interest, leading me to want to know more. His method of combining techniques to keep a child’s interest and important events is admirable.

Classroom Extensions:
1)Instruct the students to draw a picture of their favorite part of Alberts life.
2)The students write some things they would want in their biography.

Summary:
This book is about all about Albert Einstein. It tells not only about his adulthood, but also his young life leading up to his inventions. It tells about the good and bad of Albert's life.

Personal Reaction:
I loved that this book was on a children friendly level, so that they would be able to understand his life by reading this book. I liked the fact that it is written about his young life too because I did not know anything about Albert Einstein besides being a genius.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
Give the students a piece of paper and have them draw Albert Einstein.
Have the students write about the part of Albert's life that interested them the most.

Who is Albert Einstein is a engaging book going through his life. Most people only know Albert Einstein for his wild hair and being labeled as a genius. This book goes through his life as a young child up into his adulthood talking about things that most individuals wouldn't know about Einstein the scientist.

This book tells the life of Albert Einstein one of the worlds most known if no the most known scientist. This biography is written in a very kid friendly way so it is easy for children to understand all of Einsteins discoveries and inventions. If I was a science or history teacher I would have my students read this book just to get them to understand more about one of the greatest minds there ever was, I highly recommend this book.
