Ford: Finding His Fire by PJ Fiala
Book 1 of the Big 3 Security series. Romantic suspense.
Ford has been searching for the escaped felon that burned down his parents home for a long time. He finds Megan, the ex wife of the felon, working as a waitress at a diner. When her house explodes, Ford is determined to protect her.

I loved that these are slightly older characters in their 40’s. Megan has been harassed and threatened but stays strong and self reliant. I think Ford was a little to self centered at times but the chemistry between Ford and Megan was quick (maybe a little too soon but tense situations) and strong. There are multiple consensual sex scenes that are explosively steamy.
There are a couple of questions that I’m hoping will get answered in the next series book.
Good suspense and emotion.

🎧 I listened to an audiobook version narrated by Troy Duran and Rose Dioro. Each had their own chapters and did both voices from their POV. They did a fantastic job with emotions and voice nuance. I listened to most of this book at 1.2 for the best conversational speed to my ear.… (mehr)
