Awakening Dream had a more magic in it that Unusual Awakening which I liked. Rylee and Lyla were trying to deal with the loss of Charlie, they were also wondering why Brock had changed so much since he had been going out with Adysin and Rylee still longs for the moment her missing father walks in the front door. Things tense up when Rylee works out why Brock is acting odd and how their make out sessions are all in both their heads and actually there was no kissing or hugging.
With a wisp in a crystal courtesy of Phoenix that glows different colours Rylee is on a mission to work out what Adysin is actually doing and how to stop her.
I really liked this book, the story flowed at an even pace, there was never a dull moment and all of the characters are likeable, well apart from Adysin. I have thoroughly enjoyed the series so far and can’t wait to find out what happens next in Rylee and friends world.… (mehr)

I really enjoyed reading Unusual Awakening, it was normal in the most part of a typical teen girl and her struggles with life when her mother shuts herself away thinking her father has died in Afghanistan. There is a boy that Rylee swears she isn't interested in but she gets odd feeling when he is near and doesn't know what it means. She has a great bunch of friends. There is just one person that is odd, and she just so happens to like the Brock too. This does not both Rylee as she isn't allowed to have a boyfriend until she is seventeen but this girl is bothered and will do ANYTHING to keep Brock near her, including witchcraft.

This story was sad, having a father going away to war is difficult for anyone I would imagine, with the not knowing whether they will come home or not. The added suspense with Adysin and not knowing what she might do made it pretty exciting. I was waiting for Rylee to find out about Adysin and whether her father came home. It was also funny in parts was written well and a fantastic read. So much so that I am purchasing book 2 as soon as possible.

This book was really great. The pace of the plot progression was a lot quicker than the first book in the series. The characters were developed more and there was less ambiguity as to what was happening. This novel is filled with great action and suspense that really keeps you on the edge of your seat. The paranormal aspects of this book are unique and entertaining. There was a cliffhanger ending that was just perfect… (mehr)

I did not enjoy this book as much as the second book in the series. The plot progression was relatively slow and there seemed to be no depth to the plot. I did really enjoy the characters and the strong emotions that were portrayed (my heart cried so many times.

I believe that if more editing was done that this could be an amazing book. The last 10% of the book were amazing and if the rest of the book had been this way, I would have definitely given the book a 5 star rating. The development of the plot needs to be improved. There were hints given in the writing to future occurrences that were obvious and gave away a lot of the book. The author tried to use suspense and ambiguity to heighten the anticipation, but it just fell a little short.

I have read the second book in this series and it was AMAZING. Therefore, I would recommend that you give this series a shot.… (mehr)
