Vinod Mehta

This one was fun to read. The prose is lucid, tone - conversational and the content interesting - the same school as Khushwant Singh et. al. I read his "Editor Unplugged ... ", a sequel so to speak, just before I took this one up. I wish I had done it the other way around, but the two books are stand alone like that, and I don't think my reading suffered much. If I had to pick just one book of the two, I'll take "Lucknow Boy". Mr. Mehta seemed to be in a bit of a hurry to bring the books out. I think the content in the two books taken together would have read a lot better if they had been presented as a single volume with a little restructuring. Never mind the commercials. I am sure he has a lot more to say, and if someone were to commission another book, it'd still find takers. I am surprised that there isn't more out there from him, in book form, being in publishing and all and for all those years ...… (mehr)
