Just wondering, hemlokgang: do you write the date of purchase in every book, or how do you know how long it's been waiting on your shelf? Or are you using LT as a reference for that information?

I use the date I entered the book on LT, which I usually do the day I receive or purchase a book.

That's a good system. I'm afraid it wouldn't work for me, though. I've been around here a little less than a year, and I have books that have been waiting on my shelves for decades. Maybe someday I'll be enough caught up that my backlog will all be more recent than my history with LT.
