Jessica has decided to play the field now that she and Todd are officially spilt. Jessica decides to go out with her boss, Michael.

Elizabeth has finally discovered that Robin has been playing her for a fool. Elizabeth knows what she must do in order to when Bruce back. She must find out the truth once and for all. Even if it means losing her job as a reporter at the Tribune. Elizabeth learns that Robin grew up in Kentucky. Elizabeth heads to Kentucky as she knows this is where she needs to start at the beginning. Will Elizabeth help Bruce in time or will it be too late?

As this mini series is winding down, it is getting more interesting and picking up speed. Elizabeth's skill as a reporter shows some in this book. I actually felt bad for Jessica. She kept getting knocked down. However in Jessica fashion, she does not stay down for too long. Not so much feeling the budding romance between Bruce and his attorney. If Bruce really cared for Elizabeth, he would hold out for a while longer. I can not wait to finally get the big reveal with the truth. ( )

Things are coming to a head by this fifth installment in The Sweet Life e-serial. I have to say I am totally submerged in this adventure and I never believed I would feel that way about Sweet Valley again after "Confidential". Things aren't perfect for me. I still hate Todd and Jessica together. I have been happiest with them broken up and Jessica dating other men. I would be fine with Todd moving on to his own separate storylines far away from either Wakefield twin. I also have said this before but its worth repeating. I think Steven and Aaron together just feels like a poor parody. It would have been AMAZING to have had a gay relationship storyline in Sweet Valley. Darn it I wanted one back in the late 80's and early 90's and they barely touched on this issue, but this just isn't working for me. It feels so fake. Also, the baby stealing storyline in Sweet Life was confined almost entirely to one of the six short installments. It was over and done too easily and I wonder what the point really was...just a filler? Maybe just a way to stay relevant with the gay SV fans? I don't know. This whole device could have been handled better. Also while the inconsistencies are greatly improved on, there are still some glaring errors. Todd is referred to as Jessica's second husband but in actuality he is Jessica's third husband. Poor Mike from SVU gets so overlooked. Also the editing is embarrassing in this fifth installment. Jessica gets up off the 'school'?

But the good in this E-serial is really, really good! Its actually a lot of fun. Lila is in quite a predicament after lying to Ken on national tv about having his baby. I wish more time was spent on this plot. Its so Lila! Aaron is fantastic in his scenes doing undercover research for Liz. The Bruce storyline has me eager to find out what really happened that night and we are getting very close now. I do worry for his mental health as he really is a bit off his rocker. The guy needs some stress management or something. I would like to see he and Elizabeth work this mess out. I also am interesting in knowing what is going on with Jessica and her work situation. Watching her professional life is far more entertaining than watching her moon over Todd.

My biggest lament is that they killed off poor Winston in Confidential. I wish that could be chalked up to a nightmare because it would have been wonderful to see him again. ( )

It's still a decent read overall story wise. Unfortunately for this novella, this one didn't really pull the story further until the last chapter. At least the big push was in the last chapter. The other story pushes were much smaller and kind of sporatic.
More importantly, the insecurity in everyone (mainly Jessica) is really starting to grind on me. What she truely needs is not something that should be found jumping from guy to guy. She needs to find her own self worth on her own. And why is Caroline the puppet master in all of this? It seems stupid that everyone else just believes the gossip instead of finding out what's really going on.
Anyway, I again read this in one sitting. It's only 79 pages- so maybe an hour read. I'm hoping the next novella (the finale for this plot arc) is a really good one. I'll be disappointed if everything just gets wrapped up in a pretty bow. ( )
