Ashley - a young carefree woman set to save the only real home she ever knew. Roman - a dark driven developer who wants to build a resort on the land. There aren't two more opposite people. This book takes us on a cross country adventure that will change the lives of quite a few people. With typical Ruthie Knox style she sets the scene with humor and intrigue and gets us roped in from the very first page. Highly recommended read. ( )

Ruthie Knox is one of my favorite Authors; I love her characters and that now includes Ashley and Roman. I read Roman Holiday in book form rather than the Serial as they were released. This story and characters were as good as I would expect from Ms. Knox but as a whole it was just too wordy. Reading this straight through rather than serially made it feel like it was packed with parts that should have been cut by a good editor.
I'm glad I read it (a big Ruthie Knox fan as I said) but I will be leery of future Serial-now-a-Book purchases by any Author. ( )

MY REVIEW:

So I’m not a fan of serials, but when this came out as a full two part read, I just had to pick it up. Ruthie Knox has done it again. She ensnares me in her world, keeps me from putting the book down, and as me panting for more by the time the book is done.

This was a highly entertaining read. The additional characters introduced and the secondary love story running alongside made it definitely worth getting.

I’ve decided…when I grow up, I want to be Ashley. This heroine was truly fantastic and her “I don’t give a shit” way, she completely won me over. I loved how she was able to get under Roman’s skin and really open him up to live.

Roman, too, was fantastic. Before he broke out of his shell, he was so wound up it was hilarious. Afterward: just plain loveable.

This book will have you laughing out loud and not wanting it to end. Ruthie has a way to hold tight to her readers, and while it’s not surprising that she’s done it again, it was definitely worth it. ( )
