Enough said... This novel is the second book in a series, but you can read it as a stand-alone. The MCs have jointly created a successful graphic novel (the guy is also a drummer) and share an exciting weekend at a con. It's time for the masks to come off. A quick and easy read that's fun, lighthearted, and sexy. The leading characters do go back and forth for a bit, but remember, they're in their early twenties. The con environment is described realistically and I love the costumes illustrated throughout the book. For Fangirls and geeky romantics worldwide. They're friends online - but can they be more in real life? Writer Tara McFadden has been friends with artist and drummer Hector Fernandez for years, long before his band became famous on reality TV - yet they've never met in person. They finally have a chance to connect offline when they're both sent to Comic-Con to promote the graphic novel they collaborated on. Hector's secretly been in love with Tara for as long as he can remember, and once they meet, she sees him in a new light. All the years of longing lead to an incredible night of passion after one of his concerts, but neither is sure if their online relationship can translate into a real life romance - or if this will ruin their friendship forever. Over four crazy days at Comic-Con, Hector and Tara must decide if they want a future together. But when their story seems to be over, it's up to Hector's entire band to make sure he and Tara get their happy ending. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

I have made it no secret that I am a huge Elizabeth Briggs fan and an even bigger fan of the Chasing the Dream series, so it should be no surprise that I loved More Than Comics. I was more than excited for Hector's story, especially with his moody demeanor in the first two books. He's a likable character with an interesting history that makes you want to get to know him. I enjoyed his history playing into his present, Elizabeth Briggs always does that so well. Tara is also an incredibly interesting character. She's driven, smart, and totally unaware of Hector's feelings for her and her own for him. Their interactions are a combination of funny, stressful, and sexy as they circle around each other. The Comic-Con part of this is awesome, I loved the cosplay and watching the fans with the band, Hector, and Tara. Plus, I really liked the band's mixture of friends and how you get to know all the characters we'll get to know even better in future books.
Like always, Elizabeth Briggs did a great job of setting up background, tying in the previous books, and connecting to the future books in the series. This is an incredibly short read, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have depth and enough action to pack a punch. I am sad to say this is the last book in the band's part of the series, but I am definitely looking forward to the rest. Julie's story is next as she takes on a good looking competitor on a fashion reality show, then we get to read all about Andrew (Andy in this book) and his former one night stand, Becca. ( )
