This is a modern reprint of a sixteenth century English translation of an Italian cookbook. It includes meat dishes, fish dishes (for Lent) fruit tarts, pancakes, fritters etc.

There are no modernizations, specific quantities of ingredients etc. so anyone trying to cook with it will have to do his/her own adaptations.

A few lines are amusing in their frankness: "To dresse a cuttle fish. This fish is of no account, & therefore dress it as you will."
