This is a facsimile of a brilliant newspaper written in the trenches during WW1. You can check out the movie that tells the story about how this newspaper came to be (The Wipers Times, 2013). Much macabre humor and satire gives insight into the daily lives of solders, and an astute teacher could find ample material for reading instruction at the secondary level.
