This book is the result of a NSF education grant to present ODEs using ideas from dynamical systems theory. The basic concepts are covered in a conceptual way that may leave more computationally minded people cold. I personally found that understanding ODEs was a lot better and ultimately easier than just solving them. Along those lines, the CD-ROM contains some fun toys to play around with and gain conceptual understanding of the topics, but you are still going to need either a CAS or a calculator to get the correct answers on the test.… (mehr)
