Chatfield, Michael. The Recruitment: Rise of the Free Fleet. E-book ed., BookTango, 2015. Free Fleet 1.
Earth has been conquered by aliens that impress human children from 7 to 18 into a piratical military. James Cook, a.k.a. Mecha Assault One gaming star Salchar, uses his gaming skills and natural leadership abilities to organize a rebellion among the captive soldiers. Somehow famous boy makes good doesn’t have the same appeal as poor boy makes good. Three stars.

All is fine but he alva dungeon parts. I don't know why they bore me to death while all the other stuff is super exciting. It also doesn't depend on the characters as scenes with eric an Rugrat are as boring as scenes without. Also any man/woman interaction scene feels cringy. Overall woman are just optical addon and play not really a role in this books. Even the good ones are just second level characters.
Nevertheless - great litrpg book.

Nice litrpg. the first chapters are a bit long with stuff that is not much related to anything later in the book. also the dungeon/academy stuff at the end was more boring than interesting. Overall I really like the chinese story vibe the whole book radiates.
Nice one!

Earth is a simulation and Emerilia is the real world. For the people in the simulation they access Emerilia like a game.
The MC bleeds over from Earth to Emerilia and gets help from one of the creators that acts like a god on this world. The whole background somehow made no sense to me - but wasn't to lazy to really look into it.
The MC is of course OP as hell and of course one of the first that took NPCs seriously.
Overall the story was okay. the game system is not really useful - mostly ignored by the MC, the magic of the MC is so overpowered it is boring at times.… (mehr)
