This was supposed to be a hot, steamy, erotica and promising book.
I'm afraid it felt short my expectations...

The plot was really thin, the language too blunt, the characters so flat.
Didn't work out for me.

Author Tina Donahue scored major points with Wicked Takeover. She managed to hide an empowering message inside a sensual delight. With Dante and Lauren, Ms. Donahue sets to building a legacy of positivity. Lauren and Dante are different, but yet the same. He's a tattoo artist, with an eye for beauty and a body full of art. She's an insecure sweetheart with body image issues and a beautiful soul. Both are outsiders, searching for a place to belong. The beauty of Wicked Takeover is that once the sexy scenarios are cleared away, the underlying message still stands. True beauty shines from within and that's a message that never gets old.

Thank you to the publisher and Goodreads for a free copy of First Comes Desire!

Unfortunately, this book and I got off on the wrong foot. From the first interaction between Diana and Tristan, their dynamic felt creepy and off -- him holding her down and telling her she wants this while she insists she doesn't. To see something nonconsensual depicted as hot, that's a dealbreaker for me. Add to that the descriptions that made me cringe and... yeah, this book was not for me.

Wicked Seduction by Tina Donahue
Wicked Brand #2

Marnie Cruz has been hiding her scars for years and is finally ready to turn them into something beautiful that she doesn’t have to hide any more. She is ready to give up covering her limbs but first needs to work up the courage to enter the tattoo shop Hector “Tor” Avana works in to see if he will do the work. There is definitely instant attraction and chemistry when the two meet and what was to be a simple sketching session becomes a bit more and then as time goes on their relationship flourishes with simple and more complex dates, sharing, caring, trusting then dealing with someone from her past so they can go on to have a HFN/HEA life together.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. Well, did not enjoy it, however the writing was good so I could not give it less stars. We could have really had a great story, and the character could have been developed more if the author would have given them time to get to know each other than just hitting the sheets.

Wicked Takeover by Tina Donahue
Wicked Brand #1

Great introduction to a new series!

Lauren has lost her job, has no family and has inherited a tattoo parlor from a father she has not seen in over 20 years. She has wanted nothing to do with her father but the possibility that the shop might bring income to her depleted accounts is something she cannot ignore. So, off she goes to check out Wicked Brand.

Dante, Van Gogh and Jasmina are the people manning the shop. Van Gogh is a young artist that is able to create masterpieces on skin or off but he is a quiet soul who no doubt has an interesting backstory we do not hear in this book – I do want to hear it. Jasmina is also young, in college and beautiful within and without – I look forward to hearing her love story in the future. Dante is older and almost a father figure to the two younger employees. He is in charge, the manager, deals with just about everything, is paternal in some ways to the younger two and a whole lot more than a tattoo artist – he knew Lauren’s father and has a huge family – one brother joins the tattoo team at the end of this book so my guess is that he will have a book of his own in the future.

As for this story – it is about family and what is truly important in life – is it money or is there more than money that is of greater importance. Well, Lauren is feeling the need for money and Dante is on the other side of that thought so the two bump heads sometimes. Lauren has body image issues and Dante thinks her body is fine – more than fine, in fact. The two spend a lot of time thinking steamy thoughts then eventually acting some of them out. They hit a bump in the road – related to the money – and do manage to work it out to provide a HEA by the end of the book.

I liked the story and would like to thank NetGalley and Entangled Scorched for the ARC – I am eager to read book two in the series – this is my honest review.

When Adriana Greco hired an escort to kidnap her for a weekend of sexual adventure, she never imagined her Viking fantasy, Nathan Wynn, would come to her rescue. He sweeps her away to his secluded mountain home and introduces her to his world of dominance.

Nathan Wynn has a problem. For the first time since the devastating end of his marriage he has to consciously fight his growing feelings for a woman. Adriana's quiet sexuality and secret insecurities leave his heart and mind in a battle of wills with Adriana refusing to let him deny their love.

Warning: erotic encounters and a gentleman's club

I was expecting a great read when I purchased this story, but what I got instead was a tantalizing thrill. Ms. Donahue has a way of pulling you so far into a story that you almost feel like a Peeping Tom. Adriana and Nathan evolved seamlessly as the tale progressed from a weekend of unbridled lust to a love story. They fight their insecurities with real human emotions that sometimes break your heart.

Thank you Tina Donahue, for a wonderful erotic romance with heart. It well worth it's FIVE BLUE ROSES!

When Eden DeCarlo is devastated by her loss in a prestige best chef competition. She wonders how her life will be once her home is foreclosed on and her dreams of a new business is gone. But Eden didn't count on the Rafe Zayas or his virile interest in her.

Rafe Zayas is a smitten man and his interest in Eden goes way beyond the competition he judged, for which she lost. He wants Eden naked and submissive to his wiles for 30 days. In exchange he'll fund her new venture if she can satisfy his culinary challenges and sexual needs. Unashamed by his need to be dominate, Rafe is determined to explore this attraction they've had since first laying eyes on one another. He also desires her to trust him, something that doesn't come easily to Eden with any person.

I was sad when this story ended. The characters remained in my head days, even weeks, after finishing. If you're an erotic reader or just a person that appreciates a great story with good ole lusty sex scenes, it's a story you must read.

Since I'm one of the authors of this book (Jen Nicholas - NOT ANOTHER FAIRY TALE), I have to say it rocks!!

Honestly, though, if you like a dose of hot, spicy, contemporary romance, then you'll like this book!

Josh was portrayed as such a hunk, but I really wanted him to have some balls too! Tess, his hired body guard, was the only character with a set. Really dissappointed in this book. It had such potential, but flopped big time.

I didn't like this one as much as the others in the "Wicked Women" series.
