Very pretty artwork if you are looking for inspiration for a cultural tattoo. I was looking for a different kind of tattoo inspiration but it was good artwork just to look at.

This book is a collection of Gangster, Aztec and Raza-style designs. Although it is a style of art I am not completely comfortable with, I think the artist does a remarkable job expressing his thoughts and emotions through his work. My daughter's friends who are very into tattoos, found the book fascinating.

I received a free copy of this book from LibraryThing Early Reviewers.

I enjoyed the style of art in Cultura Tattoo and appreciated the detail and styling in the different tattoos. What stood out to me most about the layout of the sketchbook is that it felt like reading a picture journal expressing the artist life and history, loves and hates, even dreams in the inked pages. It created a personal passage through what would otherwise be just another tattoo collection on paper.

Absolutely enjoyed this book; not only was he expressing himself from a artistic point but allowed you to see if sketches that were unfinished.

Each piece was great to see considering I'm Hispanic and even in our cultures there were many different aspects to Sugar Skulls or Day of the Dead and other pieces.

Wish the book had more detailed explanation on each piece but again an illustrative book.

As a Tattoo enthusiast would really love him to draw me my own Sugar Piece for my next tattoo.

Absolutely grateful to provide a review for this book; definitely a must have for any Tattoo or other Artist

Tattoo Duke starts off by saying that “Art is like a fingerprint. You have your own style and no one is to say how perfect or non-perfect it should be”. By knowing this, one has to look at his sketchbook with an open mind.

The art in this sketchbook is influenced by the style of Gangster, Aztec, and Raza-style designs. Looking at the sketches you can tell that the artist has a grasp of the all those disciplines. Most of the sketches are done in pencil with color being omitted.

This sketchbook is a great introduction to the artwork of Tattoo Duke. With a little research, hopefully you can actually find some of his pieces to see how the sketches translate to skin.

I loved the pictures in this book. The artist is very talented and his drawings come alive on the page. His art inspires me to start drawing. What impressed me was the expressions on his subjects. All in all a really nice book.

This book was not what I was expecting. I thought it was going to have history on the culture of tattoo, but it is the work of Tattoo Duke. That being said, the pictures of his work are exceptional. They are intriguing and interesting to look at. I would have liked some texts to go along with what they were, but overall, this is a very interesting book.
