And his first-hand experience in Irvine, CA, where the story of serial murder takes place, made for compelling description full of behind-the-scenes information about dept. and community politics, policies, special weapons, training, technology—more than you get to see in movies and TV. The story’s full of fascinating detail, insight and gritty observations from real crimes, as stated in the foreword. As the story develops, the reader discovers who the serial killer is, and gets to hear his warped reasoning. You also get to follow the progression of a relationship between Lieutenant Hunter, aka Lincoln9, and an attractive co-worker. Those fascinated by police procedurals hit paydirt with Lincoln9. And it leaves you with an even greater respect for the men and women who protect us with practiced precision, discipline and skill.… (mehr)
