This is a brilliant finale to the elementals series. As we have read along, getting to know this world that Jacobs has created, we've also watched as the story got better and better. With each book, it is as if Jacobs has opened up more, showing us the full breadth of her writing talent, and it is fantastic.

I found this book really hooked me. I already went in knowing I was a huge fan of the series, but I wasn't prepared for just how great this book would be. In this next journey in the story, we see the journey of Nodin, the air elemental. We have already gotten to know Nodin, but we haven't been seeing the real him, the full self. In this book, we not only see him as a whole, but we begin to understand so much more about why he has always been the characters he has. We also get to meet a lovely, soft character, who hasn't featured previously. She is kind and sees people via their aura, except for Nodin. She has a deeper connection with him, seeing the full him. We read along as he finally starts to open up both himself and his heart, as they all make preparations for the final task.

The characters in this story continued to grow and gain more personality, in true Jacobs style. She has given us enough depth to really feel as though they are a part of our lives, that we know them enough to be friends. This made it both easy and hard. Easy to connect with the character and really fall for them and their story, with each book we've felt the connection deepen. However, that is also the bad because we have grown to love this lot so much, with the beauty of Jacobs' writing, that we almost hurt for them, when times are hard.

I loved the pace and excitement in this book. It really swept me up and carried me along, from cover to cover. I struggled to put this book down and it is definitely one that stays with you in between each read, wondering what will happen next. I just love the ebb and flow of action/excitement and slow moments to learn about the situation.

I have loved the entire series and more than highly recommend giving it a read. Not only will you fall in love with this book (and entire series), but you will also fall for Jacobs herself.

**I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

What I Thought:

Having read Jillian's Other works, I knew I was in for something different with this book. I read the blurb, and I was hooked. I've been in situations similar to the blurb, and I felt I was already connecting with Ember the moment I knew about her life.

Ember has been dealt a hard blow in life, well, several actually. She is trying to cope with all of these issues, some of which are ongoing, and some - like her silbling's suicide - that have passed, but are still a huge part of her life. She feels lost, confused and is in quite a dark place. Then she starts to work closely with her counselor. She starts to make headway, and then a strong, domineering man enters her life.

We read along as he takes control, leading Ember to a life she hadn't expected, but at least she has a focus. Is it a good focus though?

I loved this book! I haven't read books by many authors who can tackle two very different genres and do so so perfectly. Yes, this book was dark, but at the same time there was a sweet note coming to the surface. I found myself fighting for this sweet love to become real, something where Ember could have a life and someone she could trust.

From the first page, I felt as though I was a part of this book. I loved and hated, I felt anger, sorrow and joy. I even felt lost, as much as Ember, then started to smile as the things panned out.

The pace of this book is neither fast nor slow, but a blend of both. There are angry moments that are perfectly written, with a swift pace to feel fast and irate. I also loved the slower pace, when we felt a moment of happiness, contentment or love.

The detail is excellent! Each character had a great amount of detail, really brining them to life. I felt that I knew them and could even count them as part of my life. Jacobs also wrote their actions and decisions wonderfully- as each character really stuck to their own personality.

Overall, I loved every moment of this book. It had me hooked from the first page, and I truly could not put it down. I love Jacob's ability to weave a story that is both dark and redeeming. I highly highly recommend giving this book a read!

What I Thought:

I really liked the premise of this book. It took a whole new look at elementals and their involvement in the world. I love both superheroes and elementals, and find reading about them is addicting. This book combines both of those loves and does in a way that gives you a fresh look at a great fantasy world.

I love that the writer had combined the elements of fantasy with scientific explanations and real world adds. It makes the book a great blend of life and fun, one that I couldn't put down!

The characters in the book were detailed and had great personalities. I found myself connecting with them and feeling as though I was part of their world. As they started to connect and become the saviours of the world, I wanted to jump in and help save people too.

The dark evil starts to show its evil head and the pair must decide whether they are going to immerse themselves fully in the world where they belong or not. Their choices, actions and the action if the read are really great. I think it makes a good read for both YA and adults, with a great action-packed, love-filled and fun energetic read. It is highly addicting and would make a great addition to anyone's TBR list, especially if you a lover of paranormal.
