From the lovely cover and engaging description of this book, I expected much more. I didn't finish it.

NOTE: I won a free eBook copy of this book in MOBI format from LibraryThing's Early Reviewers (July 2020).

This is not so much a novel as it is a book of poetry and meandering prose. In reading it from cover to cover, I struggled with determining what the book is actually "about." Then I realized that the title mirrors the book's content: different strains of thought run through each sentence in much the same way as currents of water flow in every direction. While Lierl reveals many universal truths and has moments of brilliant insight, the experiences she communicates in each chapter is highly individualized. Readers may have difficulty relating to her bohemian adventures and nomadic travels. Moreover, some of the events she relates are simply banal. The reading experience waffles between the arcane and the accessible. The reader does not drown in these currents of prose, per se, but there are many instances in which she might find herself in over her head.½
