Alice Sebold was born in Madison, Wisconsin on September 6, 1963. She attended college at Syracuse University. She was raped as a freshman. Her first book, Lucky, is a memoir which tells the story of that event in her life and its aftermath. Following graduation from Syracuse, she went to the mehr anzeigen University of Houston for her graduate degree and received an MFA from the University of California, Irvine. Her other books include The Lovely Bones and The Almost Moon. She won the American Booksellers Association Book of the Year Award for Adult Fiction in 2003 for The Lovely Bones and the Bram Stoker Award for First Novel in 2002. The lovely bones : a novel von Alice Sebold
OMG, I've never cried soo much in a book! It was well written, however, incredibly depressing the whole way through.
An excellent collection of short stories. While some appealed to me more than others, not one was a bad, in my opinion.
{my thoughts} - I must confess I watched the movie before I had read the book. The movie left me in a daze slightly confused as to what was actually being portrayed. I read the book in order to try and straighten out that confusion I had been left with. The book helped to create the imagery that I was not getting from the movie. It also gave me whole story aside from the bits and pieces that were put together in the movie. All and all I would have rather read the book and skipped the movie. It’s a really nice read and it paints and interesting picture of what Heaven may possibly look like. It also shows that with a little determination and investigation it is possible to solve a murder.
