Cute.

Characters were great but the story wrap up left a lot to be desired. Loved the world building but wanted more showing and less telling or leaving to the reader to assume.

For a relatively short book, it managed to drag quite a bit and I just wanted it to be over. Very little character development, though being the first book I can sort of let it pass. The writing could have been a little less bland too. I plan to give the second book in the series a shot, but it's really going to have to pick up the pace to keep me enticed.

2.75 at the most, I won't be reading any more of this series.

The writing is stilted and doesn't flow freely, and the ending was too abrupt as if the author just gave up and didn't want to bother with it anymore.

Every third year on the same day The Tribe (a wandering band of hippies) appear in Dry Spring to spend their summer at the campground near Pyramid Park. Solana McAdow's history with The Tribe was known to Skye McAdow even though she always made sure to keep her son far away from them but the year he turns 17 everything changes. His mother disappeared two years ago without a word leaving Skye and his little sister Willow to figure things out for themselves so when The Tribe shows an interest in Skye he finds that he is also curious and now his mother isn't there to prevent him getting answers.

I was really surprised by this book. Not only was it a lot longer than I was expecting (definitely not a bad thing) but it also held quite a few plot twists. I wasn't expecting LGBT to make an appearance but it isn't overly done and I wouldn't consider it adult content. If that sort of thing bothers you then this book really isn't for you. This is one book that I wish had a sequel but it doesn't really end in a cliffhanger. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading about coming of age, magic, the supernatural and alternate worlds.

Spoiler Free Review:
This is the fifteenth in the Lainswich Witches Series. The series follows Rowan a rather reluctant Witch and her husband Eric as they deal with her dysfunctional family as well as the inhabitants of the rather quirky town of Lainswich. It seems the relationship with the community definitely runs to love hate.
The Greensmiths it seems have been cursed and their mates don't seem to fair well. Rowan is concerned and the mysterious disappearance of her mother's latest husband sends her looking to solve the mystery.
I tend to avoid giving a summary of the book thus the Spoiler Free Review. I look at reviews to see how the author writes. These are true to the cozy genre. The paranormal aspect drives a bit of the plot but the books are set in the here and now and are not overly heavy on the paranormal/witchiness scale. Raven writes a clean entertaining book. The bottom line is that she knows how to tell a story.
Like all series of this type it will make more sense if you read in order. But each book is a standalone and there is not a cliff hanger.

This is the 15th in the Harper"Foxxy" Beck series and they just keep getting better. The basic information about the series is Harper Beck inherited a Disco Skate from her father whom she never met. While a little run down she has kept it going for over ten years. She has a few very interesting employees and a bit of an attitude. That may come from the fact that she is a reluctant witch from a family of powerful witches. Throw in she married a police detective and has taken the role of unofficial protector of the town from paranormal predators and you have an interesting setting for the series.
Harper whose disco persona is "Foxxy" is funny, irreverent and thoroughly entertaining. Raven writes a well plotted, well edited story that doesn't take itself to seriously. While these are probably best classed as a paranormal cozy there is a big dose of humor included. Fan of Jana Deleon, Amanada M Lee or Ani Gonzalez you will enjoy Raven's works.

Roller Rink Witchcraft (Harper “Foxxy” Beck #1) by Raven Snow is a clever mystery with witches and magic. It is a good prequel to introduce the characters and get a feel for the writing. I enjoyed it and think I would like to see more of this witchy world.

Spoiler Free Review:
This is the 14th book in the Harper "Foxxy" Beck Series.
Here is the premise. Harper Beck inherited a Roller Rink from her father. The father she had never met. The Roller Rink has a 80's disco them and Harper has taken on the persona of "Foxxy" complete with green Afro wig and 80's era shorts. Her business is located in Waresville Florida and the town is home to a number of supernatural creatures. Oh, Harper is a reluctant Witch. The granddaughter of the most powerful Witch in the area. Harper did not have a great life growing up and was estranged from her grandmother until her father's death and her move to Weresville.
Now that does not sound like the setup for some of the funniest books written in the genre but it is. You see Harper developed more than a bit of a mouth and she is hopelessly nosey as well as a bit of a klutz and trouble magnet. Mix it all to together and you have snarky wonderfulness.
Each book is a standalone and has enough background to follow the series but it is suggested that you read the series in order to fully enjoy but that may just be me and a bit of OCD.
The books are clean reads and would be suitable for a mature YA reader as well as adults. All in all one of the best witch cozies. Similar authors would be Amanda M. Lee, Tonya Kappes, Jana DeLeon and Juliette Harper.

Book 5 of the series, very little mystery here, I think I won’t read the series for a time as it is wearing out.

Spoiler Free Review:
The second in the Harper "Foxxy" Beck series. This cozy series follows the adventures of Harper who inherited and runs a disco themed roller rink in a town inhabited mostly by witches. Harper who prefers to go by "Foxxy" is the granddaughter of the most powerful witch in town but chooses not to practice. She prefers running her roller rink. However she (true to the cozy genre) seems to a magnet for murder which of course she must solve. These are written with a light hand and if you like a little paranormal in your cozy and a bit of sass and snark these should be right up your alley.
Fans of Amanda M. Lee, Lily Harper Hart, Rose Pressey and Tonya Kappes should find these enjoyable.
To me they were well written and tightly edited. A quick clean enjoyable read with a decent mystery and a fun backstory.
I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

I adored this book. ^_^

This book picks up right where Roller Rink Witchcraft leaves off. Harper "Foxxy" and Wyatt's relationship is going somewhere in the right direction, the Funky Wheel is as groovy as ever, Gran is still mysterious, Cooper melts my heart, and the town of Waresville is still cooky, witchy, and full of dead bodies.

I loved that this book showed more of the town, and it's witchy residents, but I must have more!! The idea of a Witch of the Year is just awesome! I would loved to have been there to witness that. Waresville, seems like it would be that perfect little witchy town, that I have longed to visit (or just live in).

One of my favorite parts of this series is the relationship between Harper and Cooper. Those two just go together like witches on broomsticks. He is so adorable, and you can't help but love this kid.

When Harper finally started to get into her witchy self, it was like "YAAASSSS!!!!!" I hope that this gets explored more in the next volume. I really want to find out about her life with her mother, and why she doesn't like to practice witchcraft. Seems like there is something sad behind that story, but it needs to be told. When that spell book landed on her head, I let out a squeal of excitement, and was like -finally- maybe this will get her into wanting to practice her craft.

Even though the books in this series are somewhat short, it leaves you with a good feeling, and makes you want more. I look forward to the next book in the series, and can not wait to read a full novel from Raven Snow on day. The way she writes is magical, sucks you you in, and leaves you craving for more.

Definitely recommend this series to anyone that love witchy things, a good murder mystery, adorable towns, and a good love story.

This light novella, has the potential to be a great series. It's packed with 70's grooviness, witty witches, adorable weird children (like myself), a budding romance, and a town that I would give everything to live in.

This 70ish page read is packed with a mix of everything, and is a fast, fun read. Some parts of the story were a bit rushed, and I would have liked to got to know the characters, town, and the groovy rink a bit more. The setting is definitely unique, and adds a fun new twist to witchy paranormal romance novels The skating rink, with the cute town, the interaction between the characters is simply magical.

I can not wait to read further adventures of Foxxy, as I enjoyed her character. She is a vibrant oddball, that has some funny comebacks, and just adore her attitude. I hope that future novels will be longer, and have her explore more of her witchy heritage. Gran seems like she is hiding something, and I hope it's some magical twist.

Definitely recommend this to anyone that wants a fast fun read, loves witches, supernatural towns, and paranormal romance.
