account of WW2 navy for children --opens with "The Backbone of the Fleet: The Batte Wagons" --a view becoming outdated even as it was written. However it does go on to the "Navy Wings" (carriers) smaller craft, and then less interesting sections of the organizational aspects of the Navy. May account in part for the fascination I always had for the Navy, though I never served in it (unlike my wife)
