I am an avid fan of this author. This is one of my favorite series of hers. I somehow had missed a couple of the books before this one came out and I can see that I need to rectify that. However, that still didn't stop me from enjoying this book nor did I feel lost by having missed those books. I need to read them just because they will enhance the story. Fantastic world-building, fantastic characterization, and a great storyline.

I highly recommend this to anyone that likes consensual BDSM, spankings, and compelling characters.… (mehr)

Yay! More Zandians! Renee Rose brought her Zandians out to play for the Night of... Reverse Harem series. I hope that it's going to be the start of a new spin-off series from the original books, because I love the Zandians. Those giant, horned, purple aliens have a special place in my heart. Renee invited along Rebel West to help her with this story and it was great.

The Zandians have managed to kick the Fins off their planet and take it back, King Zander announces that his goal is to repopulate and rehabilitate Zandia. Since all the Zandian females of breeding age are already mated, the Zandian males are going to have to find someone to mate. All the escaped human slaves who Zander declared free since they helped fight for the planet are included in the plan to increase the population. Zander says that the males need to form a team and find a human woman to mate. Jax, Tarren, & Ronan, three cousins, already have their eye on their woman, Riya.

Riya is a former agrislave who was really, really tortured by her former slave owners. Now, as a freed woman, she's been working as a medic for the Zandians. Tarren met her when she was patching him up, and they got a little up close and personal. Then he threatened to spank her when she left safety to go pull in injured.

There are lots of really hot sections of this story, as well as some really romantic parts. But there is also one big section that made me cry. It was really sad, and my heart hurt for everyone involved. But, being a Renee Rose/Rebel West book, I knew I should expect to have some feelz going on. And I did. It was awesome. I really, really hope that there are more books to come, because I don't want to lose our big guys.… (mehr)

Oh, I love the Zandians. I've been cheering for these guys ever since the first book, and I was really worried that the series would end once they got their world back, but instead, Renee Rose brought Rebel West on board and matured the series and brought us into the menage/reverse harem arena.

Danica is a human slave who has escaped the cruel master who has impregnated her. She knows that he will kill her the second that she gives birth. The problem is that she got caught as soon as she landed on a new world and is now being sold again.

Benn and Gorde are two Zandian scouts who go out and find Zandians and bring them home to their now freed homeworld. Zandia is now a safe place for all Zandians and they need as many Zandians there as possible. They are also hoping that they will find a Zandian woman to mate with. There is a very, very, very slim chance that it could happen, but that doesn't mean that they won't still hold out hope for it to happen. As they are walking by, they see a human woman who has been tied to a post and is nearly being choked by a strap across her throat. They decide that they will buy her and rescue her. They know that many of their leaders have mated humans and that humans are living on Zandia and are cross-fertile with Zandians. If nothing else, they can have some fun with her and always sell her on. But after some time, they decide to bring her home to Zandia and tell her that humans are safe there.

Mostly I like Benn and Gorde. I think that they are ash-holes a couple of times and need a swift kick in the rear ends, but they do genuinely care for Danica. I understand why Danica does what she does. I cried while I was reading this book, and I'll probably always cry in the same place and for the same reason.

I love the big purple guys and can't wait to see what's coming next.… (mehr)

I love the Zandians. I've had a soft spot in my heart for those big, purple, horny aliens from the very first time I read the first book. Now Renee Rose has gotten together with Rebel West and taken their story in a new direction, which is always fun. We still get the hot Alpha-ness of the Zandians, we just get more of it per book.

Since the Zandians are trying to repopulate the planet, human women are welcome on the planet and they mate with the Zandian men. In most cases, they mate in a group, 2 or more males to one woman. In order to make sure that there are enough human women, the Zandians go to slave auctions and buy or rescue women as needed. That's what Captain Archer did, along with his friends Lanz and Domm. Only, there is just one hitch.

Mirelle lives in a human colony on Jessel. She considers herself a human freedom fighter. She does what she can to rescue humans from slavery, then takes them to Jessel. As far as she knows, the Zandians are still keeping the humans as slaves, so she dashes in to rescue Captain Archer's purchase of a woman and her daughter before he can collect them. When Lanz and Domm come after her to get the women back, she manages to fight them and knocks one of them on his behind. Then she rushes off in her spaceship. The problem is, the Occretian pirates are between her and home, and they want human slaves, but not for the same reasons the Zandians do. The 3 males jump in and rescue the women and take them back to Zandia, where Lanz and Domm claim Mirelle as their mate.

Mirelle was a slightly different heroine to the rest of the Zandian stories, I think. She's a warrior and fierce. I mean, seriously, she kicked Zandian butt. Not to say that some of the other women aren't warriors, but they aren't to the same extent that Mirelle is, in my opinion. Lanz and Domm are good guys, but I think they needed to think out of the box more for Mirelle. I understand why they did things the way that they did, but they weren't the best way to do it.
