Oh, I love the Zandians. I've been cheering for these guys ever since the first book, and I was really worried that the series would end once they got their world back, but instead, Renee Rose brought Rebel West on board and matured the series and brought us into the menage/reverse harem arena.

Danica is a human slave who has escaped the cruel master who has impregnated her. She knows that he will kill her the second that she gives birth. The problem is that she got caught as soon as she landed on a new world and is now being sold again.

Benn and Gorde are two Zandian scouts who go out and find Zandians and bring them home to their now freed homeworld. Zandia is now a safe place for all Zandians and they need as many Zandians there as possible. They are also hoping that they will find a Zandian woman to mate with. There is a very, very, very slim chance that it could happen, but that doesn't mean that they won't still hold out hope for it to happen. As they are walking by, they see a human woman who has been tied to a post and is nearly being choked by a strap across her throat. They decide that they will buy her and rescue her. They know that many of their leaders have mated humans and that humans are living on Zandia and are cross-fertile with Zandians. If nothing else, they can have some fun with her and always sell her on. But after some time, they decide to bring her home to Zandia and tell her that humans are safe there.

Mostly I like Benn and Gorde. I think that they are ash-holes a couple of times and need a swift kick in the rear ends, but they do genuinely care for Danica. I understand why Danica does what she does. I cried while I was reading this book, and I'll probably always cry in the same place and for the same reason.

I love the big purple guys and can't wait to see what's coming next. ( )

This series author gets better and better. She does an exceptional job world building and creating characters, that as a reader, keeps me engrossed in the book. I become vested in how the each of the characters finds their happiness. My only complaint is that I wish this story was longer because there is so much more that I want to know. Definitely, recommend this series and book. ( )
