Brad inherits a heritage farm from his uncle. In order to keep the heritage farm status, it needs to be run by someone of the same blood, and that someone also has to live there. While Brad loved his uncle and loves his family, he is a middle school science teacher and also loves his job. Brad learns that he has also inherited a pub, and it is there that he meets Caleb. Caleb has come back from St Louis after a breakup with his boyfriend and is kind of at loose ends. There is no way he is going to hang around his hometown, living with his parents, but in the meantime, he is helping out at a pub that his dad serves at. When Brad learns that Caleb is a business major, he gets him involved in trying to improve business and helping to maybe set up other businesses that will sustain the farm.

This all just seemed so far-fetched. And I couldn't really feel the chemistry between Caleb and Brad. We know that they find each other attractive, but they don't spend a lot of time together on page. Or off it, really. Most of the story is spent on Brad and his family and how he comes to accept getting a farm. His family is pretty awesome, and the connection between them is nice to see, which is why I'm giving a book that didn't really make an impression on me with very little connection between the main characters this rating.

This book focuses on a real problem, presented with lots of humor and a sprinkling of sweetness.

Being in a relationship with someone you don't really mesh with can be toxic. Especially if your current partner criticizes you all the fucking time. They don't like how you dress; what you eat; what music you listen to; your sexual preferences; etc. Why the fuck are they with you then?! They should just go find someone who fits the criteria.

If you're in that kind of relationship, after a while you will lose yourself. Doubt creeps in, you start second-guessing yourself. And eventually you won't know who you are anymore.

When Dan and Tanner meet, there's a spark. They start hanging out with each other, and the topic of their exes come up in conversation. It turns out they both had asshole boyfriends in the past, and they start comparing them. That's when an idea forms in Tanner's head. They create an Instagram account, where they post all kinds of photos about what their exes didn't like about them, like eating greasy food, or wearing sweats on a Sunday, or being a boisterous person, or even an introvert.

Because Tanner is a loud, chatty person with no filter, he's literally vibrating when he's excited. Dan on the other hand loves his own company, and doesn't like to go out, he gets anxious in crowds. He also might be ace or demi, but that wasn't confirmed. Dan just said he has a low sex-drive, therefore this isn't a steamy read.

So these two men try to find the way back to themselves, while trying to find a way to each others hearts. And they're adorkable together.

A very lovely short story, sweet and cute with two characters who are generous and simply adorable. An easy read that will let you with a smile in your face.

Very worth your time.
